More SD Shots & Mt. Rushmore Stuff……..

For those of you sick of my South Dakota stuff, we’ll be getting back to the wedding routine soon, and promise this will be my last post from the trip! (I can’t help it, sorry)

When you grow up living near Mt. Rushmore, I suppose it’s like living near any other tourist attraction and gets boring after awhile seeing or even hearing about it.  Since I had not been back there in years, we decided to take a swing by to see the 4 guys for the hell of it to see if they had aged.  Everyone has the same boring photo of Mt. Rushmore, but did my best to try and shoot a few different angles that most don’t see if they haven’t actually been there.  The last shot is dedicated to all you HDR lovers – I’ve created a monster!

(This is my old fishing spot from when I was a kid – so weird to go back as an adult.  Tonya seemed to enjoy it)

(Think anyone will notice if I blow right through this one?)

Some Dakota Wildlife Photos

I’m still going through some of the images from our trip in between trying to get caught up after being away for the week, and thought I’d post a few wildlife photos for ya.  We definitely got to see some cool stuff there, including whatever that thing is in the last photo that Tonya barely escaped from! :)

I have a few more shots to post as I continue to go through them, and then will move on back to the usual stuff!

Back Home From South Dakota…..

After a fun week in the Black Hills and the Badlands of South Dakota, it was nice to get back home to NY today.  Vacation is always fun & exciting when you need a break from reality, however it’s funny how it’s nice to get home after being away from your normal every day life.  I’m pretty tired and think I’m gonna go to bed early tonight if I can – I took one look at all the emails I have in my inbox waiting for me and was exhausted just looking (don’t worry, I’ll get caught up by tomorrow if you are waiting for a response!)

I have tons of photos to share from the trip as we went on different adventures on different days, however I thought I would start by posting some of my favorites from our day in the Badlands.  It’s no Grand Canyon, but I will say that the Badlands are without a doubt an amazing site to see with some of the most amazing scenic landscapes you will ever see (and insane blue skies).  Here are a few samples for ya!

Jamie - Are those hdr shots or is your camera just that kick-ass?July 23, 2008 – 6:36 pm

Matt Ramos - These are not HDR, no…. although they will look even better once I have a chance to play with some and try it – I’ll definitley post when some soon! :)

P.S. I used a little disposable on these I picked up at the 7-11 (just kidding)July 23, 2008 – 8:12 pm

Jamie - Would it really surprise me if you could take a better picture with a disposable camera than I can take with an SLR? :-) I’d be jealous if you weren’t going to be taking pictures at our wedding!July 24, 2008 – 3:04 pm

One Last Post From the Road…

Whoops, I think I took a wrong turn somewhere. This looks fairly easy to figure out, doesn’t it?

P.S. We fly back to NY in a couple days – I’ve got lots of great photos from the entire trip to share, so stay tuned! :)
