Quick Teaser from the Matt & Lauren Wedding….

It’s going on 1am here, and am quickly trying to download and backup all images from  tonight’s wedding with Matt & Lauren, so I can get some sleep…. this wedding was awesome and Jamaica and I got some killer images from the day that I can’t wait to share in the next day or two, so be sure to check back soon!  I’m beyond exhausted, and have to get up to do it all over again tomorrow, so am keeping this one short.  I’m hoping to post lots of samples from both back to back weddings by Monday - not to mention I’ll be shooting a total of 5 weddings in the next 9 days, so there will be lots to share on the blog for ya! (if I can make it through this wedding marathon :)  The rest are still loading, but here’s a quick shot of the reception tent from tonight’s wedding!

The Power of Photosynth – The Future of Digital Photography…..

I can remember how excited I was when digital photography first came out.  After an entire childhood and adolescence of taking photos, not knowing what they would look like, paying and waiting a week to have them developed, etc, it was like a miracle.  I often wonder how on earth I could run our business without the technology of digital vs. film.  Ever wonder what the next ground breaking technology will be in terms of photography and the way the world views images?

For those that have not heard of Photosynth, this is a must see and something I think will truly change the way we look at things in the next few years… I haven’t quite figured out how this can be applied to real life scenarious in the field just yet, but do find this still deveoping technology absolutely fascniating….. here’s a couple of short clips you can check out that shows you what Photosynth is and an opening to a future of endless possibilities…. and I thought HDR stuff was cool! :)

Congratulations, Kevin & Janelle!

Aside from the single lightning bolt that struck the tree about 50 feet from my truck, almost killing us all, you couldn’t have asked for a nicer day on Saturday…. a near perfect day for newlyweds, Kevin & Janelle!  We started by shooting at this beautiful bed and breakfast right on Sacandaga Lake (Inn at the Bridge), followed by a church ceremony, and an outdoor reception, which was held at Eagle Mills in Broadalbin.  I never know what to expect when we shoot a reception at a place outside the normal reception halls we are used to, but was pleasantly pleased by not only a change in pace, but also some different scenery to shoot with – plus, it was a beautiful night to be outside!

Janelle & Kevin are not only extremely photogenic, but a ton of fun to shoot with as they are both so easy going (not to mention their bridal party was awesome to work with as well).  I knew when we shot their engagements together a few months ago, their wedding would be a lot of fun.  Jamaica and I had a lot of fun at this one, and would like to thank everyone for their hospitality and for allowing us to spend the day and document such a special occasion.

For those interested, you can click the link below to pre-register your name and email to receive automatic notification of when images go live!  Congrats again to Kev & Janelle - of course I leave you with a few samples of their big day below!

Gina Zabloudil - Besides the HDR….Love your blogging, full page is soooo much better and full page photos are gorgeous to look at! What blogging system do you use? It’s so much nicer and more pro-looking than what we’re currently using. And you’ve had a blog since 2006? Wow. It has just really become popular in the last year in Nebraska. It usually takes awhile for us to get caught up with whats happening on the coasts. Thanks again for your time. Regards,

Custom Thank You Cards (& How to Order Them)….

Each year we get a lot of questions regarding thank you cards, so I figured now was as good a time as any to talk about it for those wondering what to do or searching for ideas!  Many order the boring, traditional thank you cards you buy in a store and sit there and write them out for hours….. only to have them thrown away, probably a few days later (sorry guys, it happens).  A great way to not only prevent this from happening (hopefully), but also say thanks in style, is with a custom, photo-style card that gets your message out, while showcasing a few of your favorite images at the same time.  These can be ordered directly through the online viewing & ordering galleries, or we can of course handle the order manually for you if you need help…. by the way, they come with envelopes for you so you can send them right out when you get them!

We’ll use a few of your favorite images and can customize the text to match your needs (some like the entire message on the front so they can just lick the stamp and send, while others like to keep it simple and write a quick note on the back of them)…. either way, this is a great way to do it, and we’ll customize it to your liking and get them out to you ASAP…. the entire process is lighting fast, and usually people have them in their hands within a week or so.  We have a few in the process this week, however here is a quick one for Nicole & Damian we did today to give you the basic idea.  Feel free to let me know if you need help ordering yours…. don’t be that couple that waits 6 months or a year to thank your guests for attending your wedding and of course their generous gifts! :)
