Congratulations, Kristen & Michael! Canfield Casino Wedding…

I’ve spent the entire day installing new hardwood floors (not done yet) and just realized I hadn’t done my promised blog entry!  It’s about 2am, and I figured I’d better get this done before I  go to bed……..

One of the most anticipated weddings of the year was that of Kristen & Mike, and Jessica, Jamaica and I had an absolute blast being a part of such a special day!  What made this wedding special is that we are shooting 3 weddings from the same family within about a year’s time, so it’s so great to see others we know and have or will get to work with.  Kristen is awesome, and Mike hysterical to be around (and borderline insane?) – on a serious note, we had a ton of fun working with them as well as their bridal party that was willing to do pretty much all of my crazy ideas in the rain to make the day that much more special.

After a beautiful ceremony at St. Clements Church in Saratoga, we headed too the beautiful Canfield Casino, where Classe Catering worked their magic with amazing food and service, while DJ hall of famer, Paul Malo rocked the casino and was the life of the party!  A huge thanks to Kristen & Mike as well as their entire family and friends for allowing us to be a part of such a special day.  For those interested, you can pre-register your email at the link below to receive automatic notification of when images go live in about 30 days:

Annivesary

Since so much of my life and work has to do with weddings these days, it’s nice to take the time each year to celebrate and remember my own!  I was going to post some horrible photos from our wedding day (sore subject), but I can’t seem to find them at th moment – maybe later.  Today is Tonya and my 4th anniversary (although it seems like it should be 10 already).  We haven’t killed each other yet and she’s still my best friend & favorite wife in the whole world! :)

Happy anniversary, Babe – where are you taking me to dinner tonight?

P.S. I’m not sure why, but the top picture makes it look like I have a mohawk for some reason – here’s proof that I didn’t below!  (although, that may be a good look for me for a future haircut, we’ll see – lol)

Congratulations, Jaime & Jon! Pruyn House Wedding…

Now that Fall is just a couple days away, the weather has been absolutely perfect, and you couldn’t have asked for a nicer day to have or shoot a wedding yesterday!  Jamaica and I got back into the wedding scene after a couple weeks off, and had the extreme pleasure of working with and capturing the the wedding of Jaime & Jon.  Although I have been there before, this was my first time photographing a wedding at the Pruyn House, and other than the bus that was determined to ruin my photos in the background (eeeeeek!), it was a beautiful place for a wedding, with nice scenery and flowers – for those looking for something outdoors, this might be a place you may want to check out.

Jon & Jaime make an amazing couple, and I really enjoyed being able to document such as special day, as well as hang out with their family and bridal party!  For those interested, you can pre-register your email at the link below to receive notification of when images go live – a huge thanks and congrats to Jaime & Jon – all the best in your new marriage!

qtpiemeg7@aol.com - Hi,
I am planning a wedding and was very curious where the reception was held in these pictures? The one where it looks like the outside of buildings, but it’s inside, is breathtaking and I’m very curious where that is located?! If anyone could let me know, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks,

Senior Portraits w/ Valerie…

Hi, folks!  Sorry I’ve been so boring lately and haven’t updated the blog much – I think I needed some rest, but have been extremely busy trying to keep up with our heavy workflow to crank all our wedding workflow and album designs out as quickly as possible!  Anyway, I’ll do a better job of updating, I promise.

As the wedding season slowly begins to fade out and the Winter months roll in, we’ll be doing a lot more studio work, portrait sessions, and hopefully commercial work, which I’m excited about (it’s a nice change each year to go back and forth).  We only have about 10 weddings left this year and then won’t shoot another one for about 6 months, so I like to keep busy and shoot during the off season months as well.  Tonight, I had a chance to shoot a few quick senior portraits with Valerie (even though she waited until the last minute!) for her school and yearbook.  Val is the daughter of good friend and DJ, Jeff Richards of Piano Man, so she was fairly easy to work with and it was fun to meet and see the rest of the “Piano Family?”

Tomorrow, we get back into the swing of things, and will be shooting the wedding of Jaime & Jon up in Saratoga, so be sure to check back over the weekend for samples from their big day!  I leave you with a quick shot from my session with Valerie that I really liked – she’s a pretty girl, eh!?

P.S.  I finally broke down and got a Facebook account….. if you think you are cool enough to be my friend, you may apply by clicking here – only kidding!  Anyway, stop by add me as your friend and say hello if you want!
