Beautiful!!! Love, MomDecember 22, 2008 – 10:07 am

Another one of our favorite hot new couples for 2009 is Francesca & Matt, who will be getting married next June. I’m excited to work with a lot of the new couples next year’s wedding season will bring and we’ve already become great friends with Fran & Matt…. they are such a fun couple and Matty gives me quite the run for my money at Guitar Hero (I will be sure to keep up on my practicing now!)
After several rained out attempts to get together and shot a few engagement photos for their announcements, we finally settled on more of a “wintery” holiday themed shoot, which was cold, but fun! I also want to mention that Fran & Matt have not had power for 3 or 4 days, so they were quite the troopers to be able to put all that aside and come out and have some fun in the cold with us. I’m way behind on my blog entrees with the whole tree thing throwing me for a loop, however wanted to post a few samples of our shoot together…… thanks again guys, and Happy Holidays! :)

Matt,
You did an excellent job. It sure was a cold day, but these turned out excellent. I look at these and I just smile, you captured them well.

The pictures came out great! I have a few favorites but it’s hard to pick just one. It’s great the Daisy Moo is in them too!December 17, 2008 – 9:39 pm
I love these pictures! They show how much love Fran and Matt have!December 18, 2008 – 10:49 am
Fran and Matt is where it all starts, my favorite is the one with the trees and of course moo moo too!December 18, 2008 – 6:18 pm
These pictures really are great. You two are looking good (and Dasiy as well)!! These pictures could easily be in a magazine.December 19, 2008 – 10:56 am

On 2 or 3 occasions throughout the middle of the night, I heard extremely loud cracks that I swore were accidents, lightning bolts (in winter) or something crazy right out in front of the house. Each time, I jumped up to look out the window, yet could see nothing nothing. This morning at 5am, I heard the loudest crack of all, except this time voices and traffic immediately after. This is what I woke up to as it came crashing down at 5am this morning…… how’s your day going so far?
P.S. I imagine this is going on all over the Capital Region…. my neighbor down the street has a tree through his car window! I’m thankful this didn’t come smashing into my bedroom while sleeping or hit the house….. aside from that, it looks like raking the leaves next year just got a little easier – let me know if anyone needs some fire wood :)

I walked down the street and found this… I suppose this guy is not going to have a good day either
another angle in the daylight….

I told you to sleep with a fan and you wouldn’t have been bothered by all the noise! (only kidding) I pray for your and Tonya’s safety and well being every day…I am so thankful that you are. Love, MomDecember 12, 2008 – 6:23 pm
Holy *&#@… That is unbelievable Matt. I am so glad that is not sitting in your living room. We finally got our power back on after sitting in a freezing cold house with a 2 1/2 year old all day. Lots of Fun! :~ Stay warmDecember 13, 2008 – 12:14 am
I know this storm was super destructive and only because you are safe can I now say – that first picture of the house and tree is really beautiful.. our neighbors tree fell into our house as well.. everyone is a-ok though… good to know ‘winter’ hasnt even begun!December 15, 2008 – 12:33 pm
Oh my gosh, I’m so glad it went toward the street. That’s crazy!December 19, 2008 – 12:48 am

I promise not to make the blog a “for sale” site, however we have yet another camera available at a hugely discounted price this week if anyone is interested or knows someone that might be! What you are looking at is the worlds fastest camera (10 frames per second this baby can fire!) as well as an overall amazing camera that about 85% of the working pros out there are using due to it’s amazing image quality and build….. this is the Canon 1D Mark III, which is just under a year old and in superb condition!
Serious amateurs and photo geeks will know exactly what this is, but if not you can read more about this camera at the link below. We paid $4495 for it new (currently selling new at $3750). We have one that is updated with all the latest firmware and accessories, box, etc that we were hoping to get $2K for (that’s $more than $2,000 less than what we paid a year ago for it)… let me know if interested – we’ll probably list on Ebay within a week or so.
By the way, I took these shots of the exact camera I’m talking about with our new Canon 5D Mark II camera and am amazed at the image quality it’s capable of…. I can’t wait to get a bride and groom in front of the lens next year with it! I still haven’t played with the HD video it can do, but that’s next on my list and will try to post some sample videos (I’ve been meaning to start doing some video blogging anyway. Here are a few shots of the goods!

When I first entered the photography market as a professional photographer (specifically the wedding industry), it was definitely an uphill battle to get our name and work out there, and be taken serious by some of the bigger venues who had not ever heard of us yet. I can specifically remember setting a goal for myself to try and get into the Glen Sanders Mansion book and website…. for those that don’t know, you have to be personally invited to be a part of this and cannot just spend money with them to advertise like many other places will allow you to do. In other words, they don’t just let anyone hop on the wagon unless you have proven yourself over time with your professionalism and work…. only the top vendors in this area get selected for this opportunity. Being a relatively “newer” photographer compared to some of the 15 or 20 year veterans of the area, this is not an easy task to accomplish.
That was 5 or 6 years ago I set that goal for myself, and FINALLY after a lot of hard work was invited into the “inner circle” as I call it to be a part of the book, website and upcoming bridal show in January, which is one of the most prestigious bridal shows in the Capital Region as they also oversee the Hall of Springs & Saratoga National. Anyway, I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but HHHHHOOOOONK! Just kidding, but am pretty excited about this opportunity and meeting a goal that was set so long ago and seemed so far out of sight back then.
We’ll be doing a huge full-page ad to make our debut in their book that goes out to thousands of brides in the Capital Region, which I’m very excited about. Here is a copy of what we have submitted for print and congrats to Jason & Jessica for making the main photo as well Sara & Ed, Kristin, Ashley & Adam, Jocelyn & Dan, Jennifer & Bob, Shannan, Damian & Nicole, and Melinda & Ben for being selected for the ad! If you are a new reader of the blog or if you know someone getting married in the future, they can come by and meet us, see hundreds of photos from the slideshow we are doing as well as look at albums, etc on January 20th at the Glen Sanders Mansion – Jamaica will probably be there doing cartwheels as an added bonus :)
