Top 2008 Wedding Photos – Vote For Your Favorite!

I thought it would be fun to post some of my absolute favorite images from the 2008 wedding season and let you vote for your favorite image!  Depending on the number of votes, I’m thinking about surprising the couple that wins your vote with a copy of the print as a surprise.  Please let it be very clear so do I not offend anyone that I could have easily selected 50-100 images for this, but just grabbed 20 photos for this post.  If your photo did not make this poll it does not mean it was not worthy, but I had to draw a line somewhere with the number of images I could post.  I should also mention that the photos below are in no particular order or rank, so be sure to check them all out and cast your vote accordingly – you may only vote for one image, so make it good!

Have fun and enjoy the snow… I will of course, post the results of this poll in a later post! :)

Buck Calabro - I really liked #6 the best. A wedding is a celebration not only of the bride and groom, but all their friends and family too.

This was really hard. There’s not a bad one in the lot. My second choice was #18, for the same reason as I liked #6. My third choice was #14 – I liked the symbolism of them going off to start their new life.

The couples are lucky to have you.January 28, 2009 – 12:47 pm

T.R. - #1 scenic and #11 Casino, a few others close 2nds.. Post production/computers have really transformed just “taking pictures” into creating dramatic visually stunning works of art.January 28, 2009 – 2:00 pm

Matt Ramos - I don’t know what you’re talking about, they all come out of the camera looking like this :)January 28, 2009 – 2:27 pm

Samphoto - #3, what a great expression on the brides face.January 30, 2009 – 11:20 pm

Beth Jahn - I vote for #11 but then again I’m a little prejudiced since that’s my daughter and son-in-law. Actually all the pictures are awesome. Nice job, MattFebruary 9, 2009 – 11:39 pm

Sharon Hoorwitz – Realty USA (Albany, NY Business Headshots)

I’ve been so behind on my blogging lately, I’m just going to bang out 3 in a row today to get caught up!  Yesterday, I had the opportunity to work with one of my favorite past brides, Jennifer Woodfield and her boss, Sharon Hoorwitz of Realty USA to work on some new headshots for a new website and marketing campaign (that we may also be helping out with, but am not sure yet).  Sharon not only runs a successful realty firm (despite the tough housing market these days), but also works as a personal business coach to help coach and give direction to small business owners – so those of you needing some coaching, here is your new go to person.   She was super fun to work with (she even did some jumping shots for us) and wanted to share a few of her photos that I really liked.  We needed some images to show her down to earth, friendly side, but also some powerful business-woman side as well.  I think we accomplished just that :)

Joseph Carr Wine – Albany, NY Product Photography

I’ve been working on some miscellaneous projects lately before the 2009 wedding season officially kicks off, which is kind of a nice change for me (I need to mix it up to stay motivated sometimes).  This week, one of the projects I have been working on is some promo shots for Napa Valley wine maker, Joseph Carr (I get to call him Joe), with the help of his team and my good friend Alex over at Mehigan, Bellone & Associates.  Joseph Carr has a huge name in the wine industry and to be honest, it’s excellent quality wine for a pretty good price if you ask me!

It’s funny how some of the simplest things can actually be more complicated than you thought, and I will be the first to admit that photographing a bottle of wine is not as easy as you would think.  Not only do wine bottles give a pretty strong reflection, but are also very challenging to light well without giving off a glare.  Then the trick is, how do you light the front label, without having light coming from the front so you don’t get a light reflection or glare??  Luckily, I have some good help around the studio and we had fun playing with some different setups & lighting configurations.  Some of these shots will be featured in many of Joseph Carr wine marketing/ad campaigns as well as for the new website (I think).  Here are a few shots, and hopefully I’ve gotten you in the mood to go try some of Carr’s wine for yourself!

P.S. I’m gonna go shotgun a bottle right now

Another Album Design – www.ramosdesigns.com – Album Design

Believe it or not, there are many couples out there that either never received a wedding album at the time they got married, maybe couldn’t afford it, or just never got around to ordering one depending on their wedding photographer (by the way, all Matt Ramos Photography clients receive albums in our packages!).  After years pass, often people don’t know what options they have and think there is no way for them to have an album made since their wedding has already come and go.  With www.ramosdesigns.com, which is a sub-division of Matt Ramos Photography, we allow people nationwide to have us create a custom/luxury album for them using their photos or the images provided by their photographer.  We’ll handle the full service of custom designing, editing if needed, and having it printed, binded and shipped right to your front door within 4-6 weeks!

We’ve been working on a project (well my awesome album designer, Jessica has anyway) for Anette, who lives in Florida and found our website last year.  She mailed us a DVD of her favorite images that the photographer took and we then designed an album that goes to print early next week.  What I am going to love about this album is the fact that it was shot in film since the wedding was awhile ago, yet we are going to have a killer album done with metallic pages to make it pop – here is sample of the album.  If you know someone that needs or could take advantage of a wedding album (even if we didn’t shoot the wedding) – you can let them know we do this!

Click the link below… some great photos here, but these were not shot by us just to clarify.

Glen Sanders Mansion Bridal Show

I’ve never really been into the whole bridal show thing as I much prefer to give my clients my undivided attention in a relaxed setting, rather than trying to sum up who I am, what I’m about, and everything about how our services work in 30 seconds with multiple people at the same time……   Nevertheless, I am very excited to be attending this years bridal show at the Glen Sanders Mansion, and this will probably end up being the only we we do each year I’m thinking.  Many of the top vendors in all categories will be there, and hope some of you still in need of a wedding professional/vendor will come check it out.  The show is from 11am – 3pm on Sunday, January 18th – Be sure to stop by our station and say hello!

P.S. Jamaica will be there doing cartwheels for those that say the magic word :)
