Joseph Carr Wine Lineup…

I’ve been working on another project this week for Joseph Carr Wine shooting images for some upcoming magazine ads and website use.  I’ve mentioned before that it’s not as easy as you would think to properly photograph a bottle of wine, however am having a lot of fun with the challenges of this project and am excited to help endorse a product that I really like!  For those of you wine drinkers out there, you have to check out the Joseph Carr line – it’s exceptional wine and really well priced in my opinion.  I am not much of a red wine drinker to be honest, but am amazed how much I do like both white & red in Joe’s wines.  I will be continuing to work with Joe on some additional images and projects which I’m really excited about – here is a quick montage I threw together of some shots we took this week int he studio.  I don’t know about you, but this makes me want to drink! :)

P.S. You can find his wine in just about any liquor store and/or check out the website at www.josephcarrwine.com.

New Wedding Albums…. Tom & Jamie!

I want to first apologize for not posting in a couple of weeks now – I’ve gotten so caught up on the Facebook thing, I sorta forgot all about blogging for awhile.  We are working on some cool projects in the upcoming weeks and will do my very best to keep things more up to date!  These past couple of weeks, I have been working on a lot of new cool ideas and things we will soon be implementing for 2009/20010 – these involve website updates, product additions and updates & a few other tricks up my sleeve!

This morning we received a batch of albums for Tom & Jamie from Graphi-Studio in Italy that I wanted to do a quick post on!  It’s always exciting to get new albums in, but have such a hard time shipping them out the next day since I always want to keep one for myself.  Tonya always yells at me and tells me to stop buying all these extra “show” albums, but it’s so hard to let go of something you’ve worked so hard on sometimes…. if it were up to me, I’d have a copy of every single bride & grooms wedding album I have ever shot :)  I really love these albums for Tom & Jamie because they have an awesome fiberglass clear cover and metallic pages, which in my opinion are absolutely stunning when you see how they make the photos pop.  I did my best to put together a video blog for this blog entry, but I kept screwing up so you’ll have to stick with just the photos for now!

I want to remind people that it’s a great time to get your albums done if you have not done so already before the craziness of the 2009 season really kicks in.  I also want to give another heads up that our subdivision called Ramos Designs is a full service operation that will design a custom wedding album for anyone using their wedding photos on Disc (even if we didn’t shoot the wedding!)  Anyway, I’m getting ready to ship these puppies out, but wanted to post a few quick photos so you can see how awesome these albums are – you really have to see them in person though to give them full justice!

P.S. We are adding 2-3 brand new album companies to our line up of available wedding albums, so stay tuned for a post of that in the very near future with more details and photos of the goods!

“The albums came. Ha, ha I got to see it before you!! It is absolutely gorgeous. I think the pictures are great. I am going out to dinner with Aunt Annie on Saturday, can’t wait to show her and the Kelly girls. I am going to bring it home at lunchtime so Daddy can see it. ” ~Mom

Congratulations, Kristen & Rob! Hall of Springs Wedding

Getting right back into the swing of things, we shot our 2nd wedding of 2009 yesterday with Kristen & Rob, who were an absolute blast to work with (I knew they would be a lot of fun when I saw what they were like on the engagement session we shot last summer).  Earlier this week, I sprained my ankle pretty badly and was really worried about whether or not I could get through the day limping around on it… I decided to go for it and am really glad I did (although the ball of my ankle was as big as a baseball when I took my shoe off last night) – luckily I had my two rockstar 2nd shooters with me, Jamaica & Jessica.  What started out as a really cold day in the 20′s quickly warmed up to 40 (NY heatwave this time of year) and we actually had some nice weather to shoot with for the most part.  Kristen & Rob as well as their entire bridal party and family were such a treat to work with and were super cool when it came to braving some evening cool temperatures (thanks guys!)

After a beautiful ceremony at a church in Mechanicville, we headed to the infamous Hall of Springs for an incredible reception and celebration.  The Hall of Springs (one of the Glen Sanders Mansion sites) is such a great place to work and aside from how beautiful it is for a reception, they always have such top notch food and service… it’s highly recommended for those of you still looking for a great reception hall!  I also want to give some quick props to Vinny Commisso of Elite Entertainment for doing a fantastic job as a DJ last night…. I don’t think he had any less than 50 people on the dance floor at all times!

We don’t start to dive heavily into the 2009 wedding season until April this year, so I’m posting a few extra photos to keep you occupied until our next wedding.  We are working heavily on album designs from 2008, a few corporate projects, not to mention I need time to heal my ankle!  Congrats & thanks again to Kristen & Rob and we wish you all the best in your new marriage together!  For those interested, you can click the link below to pre-register your email for when images go live for online viewing & ordering (usually about 2-4 weeks):

New Zenfolio Magazine Ad & 2008 Photo Contest Winner…

A few posts ago (scroll down if you need to), I posted 20 of my favorite images from last year and let you all vote on which you liked the best.  After about a week and nearly 100 votes, I wanted to announce and congratulate Jen & Matt on being the highest voted with nearly 30% of the total votes overall!  You can check out the photo directly below of their first dance at the Franklin Plaza in Troy.  Coincidentally enough, I will be meeting with Matt & Jen tonight, which will work out great since we will be giving them a $100 gift certificate to apply towards prints, album upgrades, or whatever they want – congrats, guys!

Carrie Ann & Tim’s photo walking the dock (shot on the Finger Lakes earlier this year) may not have won the contest, however was selected this week to be used in a national magazine marketing campaign for a company called Zenfolio, which allows professional photographers from around the country to host their images for client ordering.  This is a huge deal and am really excited for them (and for me – lol).  You can see a sample of how the ad will look below and then the actual photo below that.

So….. congrats, guys – thanks for all that voted, I’m sure Jen & Matt really appreciate it! :)
