Cate & Zach Wedding Albums! www.ramosdesigns.com

We’ve been hard at work during the wedding off-season, and as a result, many of our album masterpieces :) are now coming in on a weekly basis!  It’s always exciting to see the UPS guy with a new album set, and this is what he brought us today, which I’m sure Cate & Zach will be very excited about.  Graphi-Studio is one of my favorite album carriers and in my opinion offer some of the highest quality albums you can get, amongst others.  Cate & Zach went with a huge 9.5 x 13 book for themselves (souped up w/ metallic pages!), 2 8×12 parent albums and a set of 8 4×5 pocket books that Zach plans to carry around with him in his “man bag” (only kidding, Zach).

For those of you still dragging your feet on ordering that wedding album, now is a great time to place your order as our team is standing by ready to design.  I also want to plug our website www.ramosdesigns.com, which is a separate division of Matt Ramos Photography, that specializes soley in custom album design (even for those that we did not shoot their wedding).  If you know someone that has photos on dvd and never got an album, let em know we can help!

Ok, enough marketing – here’s a few shots of the goods – we’ll be shipping these babies asap, guys – hope you love em as much as I do!

New Maternity Session (Capital Region Maternity Photos)

Hello, everyone!  I want to again, apologize for my lack of blog entries lately as I have been very busy shooting, designing 2008 wedding albums, and prepping for the upcoming 2009 season in general.  Soon enough, wedding season will be in full swing, and I will have loads and loads of blog entries and images for you all to check out – in the meantime, I know I have been pretty boring and apologize!

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to shoot an amazing maternity session with a bit of a local celebrity here, in the Capital Region.  (So that I can attempt to give her a bit of privacy, I’m not going to mention any names in this blog post).  I’ll admit, I don’t shoot a million of these a year, however had a blast capturing some great images in the studio together.  These are meant to be a gift for her husband for their upcoming anniversary, which I’m sure he will love – more importantly, I think maternity images will someday be so important to the child (or in this case twins, which are due in about 5 or 6 weeks).  It means a lot to me as an artist to be able to capture such special moments in a person or family’s life and look forward to hopefully photographing the babies once they are born (you’ll have to stay tuned for an update).

I can’t even begin to tell you how many amazing images we captured from this session, however even though I’m going nuts wanting to show you some of the other awesome stuff, I’m going to hold off on posting anything further to respect privacy, unless I got permission to do so – I’ll update this later if that ends up being the case. Here are a few of my favorites from the day!

The Scary yet Exciting Transition to Mac….

It seems in this day and age, the vast majority of professional artist & photography related professionals are using a Mac over Windows due to their enhanced performance in imaging & overall user experience & reliability (not that I look down on Windows users).  For years, I’ve sorta hidden the fact that I’ve been a Windows guy all my life, and have never quite been brave enough to make the move from Microsoft to Apple even though that’s what “I’m supposed to be using.”  I guess when you use on a daily basis and know something so well for 15+ years, it’s a bit of a scary thing to just change all of the sudden and wonder how your entire workflow and ways of doing things will be completely different.  Much like many things in life however, sometimes you have to just go for it, I suppose.

After going back and forth several times, I have decided to make 2009 the year we finally convert our entire office to Mac (which I’m thinking we will all love once we get over the learning curve and hump of becoming comfortable with some of the new programs I am not used to).  I do have a Macbook Pro that I already use for basic stuff and client presentations, but took a leap of faith today by ordering one of the new 2009 24″ iMacs (3.06), which were just released 2 weeks ago.  Before we drop some serious money to make the entire transition, I figured I would just order one for now to play around with and try to get comfortable with – I’m really looking forward to the new toy, which will hopefully help us to work that much more efficiently when it comes to keeping up with the busy wedding season.  I’m having this baby souped up a bit from the manufacturer so won’t get it for a few weeks, but wish me luck! :)

Lynda - What PC did you use? I am in the opposite position of always using Macs but moving to Africa where the PC is much better. (Macs don’t work where we are going for whatever reason). Did you use a laptop? What were you happy with?

Presenting the KISS Wedding Album – Brand New Offered Product!

I’m constantly on the lookout for new, high end items, products or unique albums to offer our clients in order to maintain a large variety of options.  Unfortunately, I sometimes spend hundreds (or thousands) of dollars to find out I don’t like something that much or think it meets the type of quality expectations I want for my our brides & grooms we do business with.  Every now and then however, I strike gold with a product that I really love…. today was one of those days, and am super excited about my new find!

As of today, we have officially added the KISS wedding album to our amazing lineup of high end & luxury wedding books.  I’ve been eyeing these books for sometime now, but since they are not cheap, held back from ordering one until recently.  I can’t say enough good things about the quality of this album and think those of you still needing to order your wedding album or even those upcoming 2009/2010 brides & grooms are going to LOVE this book.  The leather is the best quality I have seen yet on a wedding book and the pages are so thick, I could probably hit a baseball with it if I tried.  They come in 10×10 or 12×12 options and various colors of leather based on preference.  I was so impressed with this new album, I just had to shoot some photos in the studio tonight for you to check it out for yoruself!

What’s almost more amazing than the book itself is the fact that I ordered this puppy just 2 weeks ago and received it today…. that’s pretty amazing for an album of this quality if you ask me, let alone any album for that matter!  For those of you with upcoming album meetings, be sure to ask us about this new album – I guarantee you will love it!  I leave you with a few samples from a quick sample album we threw together……..

P.S. We design albums for ANYONE – whether we shot your wedding or not.  If you know someone that needs this type of service, please be sure to mention we can help :)

New Album Design – www.ramosdesigns.com

We’ve been busy in the office this week cranking out as many of the 2008 wedding albums as possible for those that are ready (perfect before we get busy in the 2009 season!)  I have a few I want to share when done, but I wanted to share today’s latest design which is done for Heather & John.  This is their rough draft and they will have the opportunity to have us edit things if they want, but think it came out great!  Click the link below to check it out and turn up those speakers first!
