When you shoot 40+ weddings a year, there is no greater treat than having an opportunity to sometimes shoot outside of your normal stomping grounds for a change of scenery and something a bit different. This past weekend, I had the opportunity to shoot on the beautiful Finger Lakes to celebrate the wedding of Catherine & Ben as they tied the knot together. I have to be honest, this was without a doubt one of the most challenging weddings I have ever had to shoot…. the night before the wedding I was involved in a bit of an accident that left my right eye completely sealed shut & swolen and I spent much of the night in the Emergency Room in Geneva, NY. Despite having one eye, one hour of sleep and looking like I was hit in the face by a baseball bat (which I still do by the way), I sucked it up and put on my happy face to be there :) Cat & Ben are such a sweet couple and am so glad I could be there to help capture such a beautiful day.
The wedding was held at the beautiful Esperanza Mansion, which lies on the edge of one of the Finger Lakes (I need to probably brush up on my geography a bit to tell you which one – lol). Definitely, an amazing scene and day for a wedding, not to mention amazing service, food, and the whole nine! I’ve been a bit down and out this week and still going through images, but wanted to post a few shots from the day. A huge thanks to Catherine & Ben for being so accomodating and easy to work with – for a day that will go down as one of my toughest situations, it went pretty smooth :) I also wanted to give props to the amazing florist who did such a great job on everything – Don’s Own Flower Shop, Inc.
For those that attended the wedding and are interested, you can pre-register your email at the link below to receive automatic notification of when images go live (usually about 30 days). A huge congrats to the newly married couple and hope you have a blast on your honemoon. I”m sure they will be checking this out soon and would love some of your love below in the comments section!
