Congratulations, Raegan & Travis!! Western NY Wedding

Ok folks, looks like I’m getting caught up on the blog entries – whew!  After spending a fun day with Amy & Lee, we boogied the next morning out to Delhi, NY…. which I’ll be honest, is basically in the middle of nowhere!  I’ve said this before several times, but I absolutely love when I get the opportunity to get out my usual stomping grounds to shoot something fresh and a bit different from the norm – this was definitely one of those weddings!  One of the conerns some new couples have when hiring a photographer is whether or not they are familiar with the location or have shot there before…. I personally love the challenge of being forced to think on the fly and be creative, rather have the same ol’ boring shot list :)

I met/talked with Raegan for the first time several months ago and without going into detail, she has been through a lot in her life and her previous photographer she had booked did not come through apparently – I was happy to try and help her out a bit, and after seeing some of these images captured from the day, I’m so glad I did!  Raegan is without a doubt a girl that knows what she wants (which she demonstrated on the wedding day – lol)….. her and Travis were awesome to hang out with and shoot.  This was a tought wedding since I was extremely fatigued and it was pretty hot and humid, but without a doubt one of the best weddings of the year I think in terms of images.  I want to point out a quick note to those reading this, that it pays to give a healthy amount of time for portraits after the ceremony and you’ll notice the vast amount of images we were able to get having this time (just a friendly FYI).

For those interested, you can click the link below to pre-register your email and receive notification of when images go live (usually about 30 days or so) for online viewing & ordering.  A huge congratulations to Raegan & Travis for having us – all the best in your new marriage!  I leave you with a few (ok, several) images from the day!  I’m officially exhausted and signing out for a couple days, but don’t go far – we have two more weddings coming up this weekend that I look forward to sharing with you!

Congratulations, Amy & Lee! Mohawk River Country Club Wedding

Last fall, I had a chance to hang out with one of my favorite new couples, Amy & Lee to shoot some engagement photos in the park together – you can see a sample of their session here – (Amy & Lee Engagement Session).  I knew from that day, they would be a fun couple to work with come the wedding day, and they didn’t disappoint this past weekend when they officially tied the knot.  I’ve had the opportunity to get to know them both a little bit over the past few months, and they are both such great people and absolutely perfect for each other – it was a great pleasure to document such a special day for them.  By the way, I want to mention that a great place to get ready if you are getting married int the Schenectady/Scotia area is the Parker Inn, which is located directly next to Proctors Theater (see photo below).  This was my first time there, and I was super impressed with how nice and how roomy it was!

It seems like the theme this summer has been rain, and unfortunately we got rained out again a bit at this wedding, but it was still an amazing day and a beautiful wedding – the reception was held at the Mohawk River Country Club who did an amazing job (like always) with entertainment presented by no other than Fernando of Piano Man – definitely one of my favorites to work with!  For those interested, you can pre-register your emails at the link below to receive notification of when images go live for this wedding (usually about 30 days or so).

Congrats to Amy & Lee, and hope you are enjoying your time in Paris and throughout Europe this week! :)

Senior Portraits w/ Kaitlyn

I in no way shape or form consider myself to be a senior portrait photographer, but every now and then I like to take a break from weddings to shoot some quick and easy portraits for the yearbook for those that need them.  Kaitlyn is the younger sister of one of this year’s brides and I got to hang out with her again for a bit to shoot, which was a lot of fun – here are a few shots from our session I wanted to share!

Congratulations, Ingrid & AJ! – Birch Hill Wedding

It’s been a busy couple of weeks and I’m doing my very best to keep up on a few blog entries before the next set of weddings arrives this weekend, so bare with me while I try to keep up with the pace of things!  Last week, I had the pleasure of working with Ingrid & AJ, who officially tied the knot together at Birch Hill Catering.  I had a rare opportunity to hang out with they and their bridal party again the following day at the Yaddo in Saratoga to shoot some additional portraits together – not something you do at every wedding, but a great way to shoot without all the pressures of timelines, etc :)

I’d like to thank Ingrid & AJ as well as their families for being so great to work with – they were a lot of fun…. for those intersted, you can pre-register your email at the link below and receive notification of when images go live (about 30 days).  All the best in your new marriage, guys! :)
