Glenville Dental – Albany Business & Lifestyle Headshots

I had another opportunity this week to take a break from the wedding scene to shoot some lifestyle and headshot images for Glenville Dental out of Scotia, who is working on a great new website coming soon!  I think more and more businesses are starting to realize that having not only a professional website, but great images can go a long way when it comes to a consumer or patient making a decision where they want to do business.  Dr. Sandmann and his entire staff were a lot of fun to hang out with (probably the most fun I’ve ever had in a dentist office since…….. forever?)  I can’t wait to see the finalized website and I think many of the photos we got will make a dramatic improvement to the website.  Here are a few quick samples I wanted to share….  I also want to give a huge thanks to one of my favorite stylists, Amy Elizabeth, who did an awesome job helping folks to look their best (and maybe impress their husbands when they got home?)

P.S.  I’m on my way to go floss, but be sure to check back soon for LOTS of blog entries….. October is going to be our busiest month of the entire year, and hopefully lots of great stuff coming soon for all you blog stalkers!

Happy Anniversary to My Amazing Wife :)

Bare with me folks – today’s blog entry is personal (my blog is also my journal) – we’ll return to our regular broadcasting schedule next week :)

As a professional in the wedding industry, I spend a lot of time documenting and celebrating other people’s’ marriages…… today however, I wanted to take a minute to celebrate 5 years of marriage with the most amazing wife I could ask for.  5 years may be nothing compared to those I see at weddings who’ve been married for 40 or 50 years as they win the anniversary dance, but then again it’s everything, when you think of the challenges, hard work , love and compromise that must go into it a successful marriage in today’s world.  The past 5 years have been some of the best years of my life and Tonya has truly been my staple, voice of reason sometimes, supporter & #1 fan when it came to pursuing my life dreams & goals & happiness – I couldn’t ask for more and love her with all my heart.  We have some very big and exciting things going on in our lives right now with the birth of our twins coming up soon, and wanted to take a day to celebrate her and 5 years of great marriage.  Happy Anniversary, Babe – I love you! :)

P.S. I don’t have amazing wedding images to post of us (which is why you should always invest in a good photographer :), but I took this photo of her a few years back, but it’s remained one of my all-time favs!

Congratulations, Shannon & Mike Wappingers Falls Wedding

I had a rare opportunity this past weekend to attend and photograph my wife’s cousin’s wedding (our gift) and take on more of a 2nd shooter role, vs the main that I am so accustomed to.   Who was the main photographer you ask?  My assistant photographer, Jessica!   I could only stay for a few hours, but Jess did an awesome job running the show in my absence… I’m beginning to wonder who is the teacher and who is the apprentice :)

It’s always a little weird for me to shoot a wedding for a family member or friend since I tend to be a completely different person when I’m working than not, but really enjoyed the freedom of not having the normal pressure I normally put on myself at most weddings.  It was great to see my wife’s cousin tie the knot and she couldn’t have married a nicer guy (by the way, how much like Elijah Wood does Mike look like!?)  Here are a few quick shots from their big day I wanted to share!

Full online viewing will be available at the following link for those interested and ready in about 30 days or so – be sure to leave Mike & Shannon some comments below!

Sealed with a Kiss* Product Spotlight – the Kiss Wedding Album

One of our hottest new albums we are now offering is the Kiss album, which packs quite a punch with it’s plush leather, seamless binding, thick pages and amazing overall quality!  They come in various colors of leather based on preference, and I decided to order a new show album for our studio in brown, which I just had to blog about to show you how nice these truly are.  The Kiss album is for those that love 3 things….. leather, quality & simplicity, and I have to say they are at the top of the food chain when it comes to the wedding album and form of showcasing your wedding images.  They can be done in 10×10 or 12×12 (again in various color leather options), and probably one of the most impressive things is that they are done in about 2 weeks of submitting the order vs. the 4-6 weeks some of the other album manufacturers can have at times.  Here’s a few sample photos for those of you that might be interested in one of these bad boys :)

Email or call us when you are ready to get YOURS!  By the way, we offer custom album design for anyone, anywhere (whether we shot your wedding or not) through our alternative website at www.ramosdesigns.com

Congratulations, Joe & Nicole! Hall of Springs Wedding

My 2nd wedding from last weekend was an awesome wedding with Nicole & Joe, who came all the way from the windy city in Chicago to wed in beautiful Saratoga Springs!  Believe it or not, I had the opportunity to meet Joe & Nicole just 2 days before their wedding for the first time and knew immediately, they would be a blast to work with…. my theory proved correct and we had such an awesome day together!

Nicole & Joe chose to get ready at the Washington Inn in Saratoga, and I can’t say enough good things about this place for what a great location it is to get ready.  For those of you getting married in Saratoga and looking for a great place, you should definitely check it out (plus it’s much nicer than a hotel room with ugly heating/cooling units, etc when it comes to photos).  After shooting some getting ready shots, we headed over to one of my favorite places to shoot, the beautiful Hall of Springs!  The ceremony was held outdoors under the corridor, and then we hung out for a bit to shoot some portraits and some of the reception (we did a partial day coverage on this one).  Joe & Nicole as well as their entire bridal party were so fun and easy to work with….. there is something to be said for having a smaller sized bridal party as it’s so much easier, faster, and less stress to get things done – (hint, hint to those thinking you need 15-20 people in your bridal party to have a good time)

I really enjoyed shooting this wedding and am so pleased with how the images came out – I can’t wait to share the rest soon!  For those interested, you can pre-register your email at the link below to receive automatic notification of when images go live (usually about 30 days).  Congrats to Nicole & Joe and all the best in your marriage together!
