Karen & Phil – Albany, NY Engagements

Most people stay inside where it’s warm when its’ 25 degrees outside, but instead I hit the cold with Karen & Phil today to hang out and shoot some engagement photos together…. the good news, was that the normally crowded locations were dead (I may have to do all my sessions this way).  Karen & Phil are one of the hot new 2010 couples getting married this August, and I look forward to shooting their wedding…. today was a lot of fun and had a great time shooting and getting to know them a bit more.  Shooting in the freezing weather is tough stuff (both for the photographer & the couple) and these guys were such troopers even wanting to take their coats off & risk frostbite :)  Here’s a few shots from our session I thought I would share…..

P.S. Those of you that have engagement sessions, I highly recommend booking your sessions now well in advanced – we are booked absolutely silly this year, so the sooner you set up your date the better :)

Lisa & Tim – Glen Sanders Mansion Winter Wedding

Last night I had the opportunity to get back into the swing of things a bit by photographing a beautiful winter wedding at the Glen Sanders Mansion for Tim & Lisa.  It was a smaller wedding from what I’m used to, but very intimate, low stress and beautiful (just the way they should be).  Ice from the river had crashed up on the shore and damaged much of the area below, which was a bit of a shame, but still made the best of it.  Glen Sanders has recently invested over $1 million dollars in makeovers and the bridal suite was awesome to work in.  Special thanks also goes to the Glen Sanders team for making a great evening along with DJ, Mike Garassi of Music Man Entertainment for always putting on a great show!

Congrats to Tim & Lisa and hope you guys have a blast on your honeymoon in Aruba – Here are a few samples I wanted to share below from the day.  For those interested, you can pre-register your email at the link below to receive automatic notification of when images are available for online viewing & ordering (usually ready in about 30 days or less).

Sticky Fingers Apples – Amazing Candy Apples and Wedding Goodies!

What started as a simple school project for their kids 3 years ago for my good friends, John & Donna, has now turned into a national craving almost overnight it seems.  Sticky Fingers Apples, which is a local company using local apples from orchards in the Capital Region has become one of the biggest names in the candy apple industry and it’s very exciting to see their business take off with such success.  Not only are they great people, but have an amazing assortment of candy apples & other goodies and ship daily around the country as the orders continue to pour in left and right.  Donna has some new apples including a cool Valentine’s apple so I had some fun shooting some of the new inventory today for their website.  I should also mention that they are now doing wedding apples for those wanting something a little different or to spice up their wedding with extra treats.  Be sure to check out their website at www.stickyfingersapples.com – you won’t be disappointed!  (Seriously, how good do all these look and they have tons more available on the website).

Frank DiMeo - Matt your work is always fabulous but these are off the wall! Good food photography is supposed to make the viewer want to eat the food. These must be excellent because my mouth hasn’t stopped watering and I can’t think of anything else since I saw them. Please let John and Donna know that I have to try them because you made them look so good. Hey wait, it is Valentines Day soon (0;February 10, 2010 – 5:07 pm

New Wedding Album Options – www.ramosdesigns.com

Ok – so this is the part where I apologize for being horrible with blog updates and hope you can forgive me for not being very interesting lately.  Truth be told, I’m enjoying being a new dad and some much needed time off before the chaos of the 2010 wedding season hits in full effect for us.  We are making good use of the recent downtime by making some updates and improvements that I’m very excited about, including new albums, new product options, and a brand new website that will launch in a couple months.  Stay tuned for updates as I think you’ll really love what we have coming!

This week I wanted to take a minute to show off some of the new albums we have just added to our inventory and client options.  What I like about these new albums are their amazing quality and the ability to customize the cover with a 2-tone leather that you can pick out from various different options!  For my sample two-toned leather option, we chose a red and black ostrich just for something different, but you can between multiple options based on your tastes.  I have two reminders for you:

1) It’s a great time to put the album together now before the 2010 wedding season takes off into full effect – let us know how we can help!

2) We design professional wedding albums for anyone using your images, even if we didn’t shoot the wedding…. you can check out our sister site at www.ramosdesigns.com or contact us directly if you need    help with this

Here are a few samples of our new Mosaic and Rustic Premium Leather Albums – I think these are my new favorite and now available to those interested :)

To see even more options, you can visit our album page on the website at www.mattramosphotography.com/photobooks.html
