Supermoon Sky Shots

Every now and then I enjoy being able to shoot just for fun and for myself, which I used to love to do when I had more free time. With all the hype over the “supermoon,” I thought it would be fun to shoot a few sky shots and wanted to do something a little different than just your standard and boring moon shots (just because it’s 30% larger, doesn’t always mean it’s 30% more interesting :) Anyway, here’s a couple shots from the backyard just for fun. The moon literally looked more like the sun as it came up over the clouds, rather than a moon… pretty cool stuff!

With all the new hype of the iPad2 coming, I decided I’d list my current one on Ebay to offset for the upgraded model I intend to purchase. Since I had to snap a few photos for my ebay listing, I figured I would play around in the studio a bit to see if I could come up with some cool looking shots…. here’s a few I thought came out kind of cool and wanted to share. Apple – you hiring?

Pro Album Designs – Album Designing Services for Photographers & Clients

We are very excited to launch our new site and business! Pro Album Designs is specifically designed not only for photographers needing help with album design, but also to help those (whether we shot the wedding or not) to have a professional wedding album designed and created using their digital images. This is a great service option for those who either weren’t offered an album with their package when they got married, couldn’t afford it at the time, or maybe just wasn’t a priority until now – it’s never too late to have an amazing, high quality album created and we are excited that we can help!

We also welcome photographers (new and seasoned) to check us out as an alternative option to reducing some of their workflow and hours spent at the computer – We offer design only services or full design, print & bind options. Creative Wedding Ring / Splash Photography

I wanted to do something fun and creative that I hadn’t tried before for Katie & Brian since I didn’t get a good chance to photograph their rings on the wedding day…. I thought it would be unique to try some underwater/splash photography to spice up a few details shots for the album. This type of stuff is not as easy as it looks, but I had fun creating these images and wanted to share a few…

Rainy Day Details – Making the Best of a Gloomy Day

Call me crazy, but I actually enjoy rainy or gloomy days more often than others for some reason. Now that the main wedding season is over, it’s nice to have some downtime and be able to shoot things for myself every now and then just for fun, rather than for clients (no offense). I decided to play in the rain today and shoot a few details from the bush outside and thought I’d post a couple… come back next week for a photo of a snowflake ;)

Cheaper & More Stuff Does Not Always = A Better Choice

Last week, I received this message from a previous client (well almost), and I asked if I could share her note on my blog for others to read. I obviously felt a mixture of emotions when receiving this note, but ultimately was disturbed at how easy this type of thing can happen and felt badly for her. I could go on and on about this topic and how frustrating it is to sometimes see people cutting huge corners on one of the most important things , but rather than do that I’m going to just let her message do it for me. Less money and more “stuff” does not always mean you are making a smart choice.

Thanks to the person who sent this by the way – I’m sure it took a lot of guts to admit this happened and really appreciate your honesty…. I really hope things turn out for the better with your situation involving this and am so sorry you had this happen.

Finger Lakes Wedding – Teaser

I just returned from a great weekend out at the Finger Lakes to celebrate the wedding of Melissa & Brian…. we’ll have samples up from the wedding shortly, but here’s a quick shot I wanted to share from doing some fooling around out near the boat launch the night before the wedding – I may have to have this one printed up!

New Website Up and Running!

After about 6 months of work, I’m really proud to announce the launch of our new website, which officially went live this week. With the help of some great web designers, we’ve put a lot of effort into creating a fresh new site with lots of great new features that I’m really excited about. Some of the upgrades the new site has vs. the old site are:

-a fancy flash intro (which you can choose to skip if you like)
-easier navigation through menus and pages to browse and find the information you want
-larger image galleries and the slideshow options to browse through images easier with
-an interactive calendar with automatic links to sunset times, online viewing & ordering sites, blog entries & even status updates for your event-added product & album pages with information & photos to help educate of various styles and options
-a new gift and registry page that allows couples to easily add us to their bridal registry for various options
-easy access to make payments online, find online viewing & ordering events, facebook, etc

I hope you’ll enjoy the new site… I want to give some props to Stephen of www.equali.com for doing an amazing job as well as www.overit.com for their fancy intro presentation. Ok, enough telling you how cool it is, click here to check it out for yourself! :)
